MANY BELIEVE THAT SATAN HAS NO POWER... READ THE BIBLE TO DISCOVER THE TRUTH !!!
Although we have investigated the power of Satan on other occasions, we find that more and more people seem to be unaware of how much Satan influences our lives. The Bible places the influence of Satan over man in the very first experience of man as described in Genesis for a reason. It was to show us the power of Satan over man to be disobedient to God even at the risk of losing paradise, and he succeeds… It is not any different today except for the fact that Satan has had thousands of years of experience learning new and more subtle ways of controlling the actions of man. He has succeeded in convincing many people that he has no power any longer because at the death and resurrection of Jesus that power was taken from him. But, the Bible tells us a very different story…
If we begin after the death of Jesus, we see countless examples of satanic activities and there is nothing that has stopped that. Paul tells us that he was hindered by Satan many times as well as warning us of the persuasive powers Satan, not only over average individuals but also on the church leaders. Paul describes many instances where Satan caused great harm and at one point delivers a man to Satan because that man was so corrupted… These seem to be powerful activities considering that the power of Satan was taken away, as some people believe. Satan is very happy that some think that he is without power, but the reality is that his power is enormous. It is frightening to hear Paul tell us that Satan can transform himself into “an Angel of Light”…
We must not be fooled by Satan into thinking that he has little or no power. This is one of his methods of influencing us to do what he wants, and that is to be disobedient to God. All we need to do is ask ourselves how many times we wanted to do something that we knew was wrong, and yet, we did it anyway… There is no explanation for this type of activity except satanic influence. He has also had tremendous success misleading people into disregarding many Christian principles. And his activities are increasing as he convinces more people that he has no power. Some of our churches allow and even condone homosexuality and abortion just to mention a few. And, if anyone believes that Satan had nothing to do with the breakdown of Christian principles within our churches, they also have been influenced by Satan.
God did not make man to be thieves, murderers, child molesters and rapists, these are satanic elements caused by Satan influencing man to be outrageously disobedient to God. There will be those that will claim that these people are mentally disturbed and some of them are, but not all of them. The evil in this world has not been brought on by God, but by Satan and we can see the tremendous increase of this evil in our world today. Satan has a new tool that can reach millions of people in a millisecond, the internet !!! This one development has increased the power of Satan exponentially, and he uses it with great knowledge of the weaknesses of man to cause them to be disobedient. Our governments are virtually places of corruption of all sorts and this did not happen by itself. Where there is evil, there is Satan…And because of the new technology, evil is as easy to get just by clicking a mouse. Parents have a particularly difficult problem, but Satan has convinced many that he has no power…
The last book in the Bible, Revelation, speaks about the power of Satan, and after reading that Book, it is difficult to understand how anyone can believe that Satan has little or no power. We are told that he is the author of all evil and sickness and that his activities will increase as we draw closer to the end. He will be chained for a thousand years and the world will be without evil, but then he will be released and then the end battle comes and only then will Satan be without power over man. But, until that time, do not be fooled into believing that Satan is not constantly looking and succeeding in influencing man to be disobedient. The Bible is filled with warning concerning Satan and his followers and it is difficult to understand how people can think that he has no power… Of course, the reason is that these people have been, unfortunately, influenced by Satan !!!
13 Hereby we know that we dwell in Him and He in us: because He hath given us of His Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath for us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love Him, because He first loved us.
20 If a man say, “I love God,” and hateth his brother, he is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loveth God love his brother also.
James 1:14 But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
There is no fear in love, perfect love casteth out fear. We have no need to fear Satan. I have God inside of me, the devil can only do what I allow him to. In James we see one device the devil uses our own lusts. That is all he can do, tempt us with our own thoughts. If we aren't thinking about it, we cannot be tempted. Replace our thoughts with scripture than the devil is powerless. Yes, evil is rampant, because we allow it to be. As long as one person allows him into their life, Satan will destroy and influence. We have the power to send Satan away James 4:7 Submit yourself therefore to God: Resist the devil and he will flee.
Somebody that flees is not powerful. I have the fullness of the Holy Spirit inside of me. The devil is not more powerful than God. Just Praising and worshipping God sends satan and his demons packing. Try it, when tempted or when under attack, break out in song praising The Father and evil runs. Is the devil cunning and deceitful......yes, because that's all he's got. If you turn on the tv, you see his work. Trying to entice us with our lusts. Guess what, the tv has an off switch. Many people watch the news, once again Satan influenced, and once again a off switch. When we focus on God and the Gospel, he's lost his influence. Yes, diseases are of the devil, yet Jesus gave us authority over diseases. Satan has tried many times to kill me, I'm still here. My neuological disease, hit by a car (while walking), rammed into by a car. Yet, the POWER and Authority that is in Jesus protected me. We have the true power inside of us, we have no need to fear. It's when we choose to not use this, than we are left unprotected. I have more power in my little pinky finger (IN Jesus) than satan has in all his demons and unclean spirits. It is the POWER of God..........period!
Now what if Satan kills me, ha ha ha, then I win! I'm going to be with God and Jesus. Death is conquered, this body will die, but not my spirit and soul. I and all believers have the power of the ONE who resurrected Jesus inside of us, we need only to allow it to flow. We are more the conquerors, In Christ and it is time we take our authority and use it. God is Love and in Love there is no fear.
You wrote, "The Bible places the influence of Satan over man in the very first experience of man as described in Genesis" I can't help but feel as I read this that you are trying to have power over your readers. If you want to write a clear message about Satan, you need to make up your mind whether your a biblical literalist or not. In Genesis 2-3, a serpent appears in the story. Literally, there is no mention of Satan. In fact, I don't think it's until John's Revelation that someone claims that the serpent is Satan. And that was written 500 to 1000 years after Genesis was written. Is that what your staking your claim on? Moreover, there is no character with the name "Satan" in the entire Hebrew Scriptures. Even though many Christian translations use "Satan," it is a mistranslation. The Hebrew is "ha satan," meaning "the satan." Clearly, it s a title at best and not a name. Even more, "the satan" is not God's enemy but the adversary who even aids people in doing God's will (as with Baalam). And what about Job? God and the satan work hand in hand to mess with Job. They cooperate and are not enemies.
This post I found to be an extremely rich source of information to help understand the influential power of Satan, as I am actually coming to expect from this author...Now we have two interesting comments arrive on it's back...The reason for these comments showing up should be obvious...Here we have an excellent example of the power of Satan...Satan probably does not like any of his true capabilities being exposed to ANYONE...let alone the entire world. These two comments are built to do one thing and that is to confuse the issue to cause DOUBT(as is usual), in an attempt to invalidate the message. Satan has shown his talent to influence two more times...
Second Life: So focusing on God's Love is of the devil? Really?! Perfect Love casts out fear, is evil? Taking our focus off the devil and putting our focus on God and Jesus is of the devil.............Really? Who is the ultimate focus of the Bible on ..........God and Jesus, so where should our focus be? On God and Jesus!!!! Somehow that is wicked...........really???!!!!!! I guess that fulfills that the bad shall be called good and the good shall be called bad. That statement is directed at your response and not to the original post.
Mine also isn’t the preeminent vehicle to steer us to safety, but God’s? The author might agree, but I think actually made an attempt to increase accountability. In part they are right, but as wholly correct, not so much. The details of NOT being ignorant of the devil’s devices are quarantined by His blood, His Spirit, the Word and word of our testimony and our daily resolve in battle. The final frontier of the one remains with the shield of faith wherein we “quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” whom can work directly or indirectly through another captive at his will. The author I believe made an unfortunate choice in good intentions.
Once saved, Satan does come "immediately" to steal, kill and destroy the Word...(if he can) especially. before we have time to grow.....But, 1st John 4:4 says "Greater is He that is IN me then he that is in the world". ..Jesus spoke the Word and the enemy left, waiting for a more opportune time....I think we all (here in this post) know, satan has power...hes out there, in the world, in many places......but we, as sons and daughters of the Most High God, are not to be in fear of him, or frightened...... hes been defeated... We Win!
I do agree that many churches today won't even speak of him...they like to believe hes not real today....little do they know........
Satan will "try" to defeat us...whenever or however he can... whether through wrong choices we make, a wrong door we open, or maybe a word spoken badly.....we make mistakes...the flesh is weak... but Christ is Strong!! and He dwells IN us! Praise God!! so, do we need to be aware of the devils schemes and devices?. Yes...but our main focus is Christ alone....We must "KNOW HIM"....and SPEAK THE WORD! ....
God has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpians and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you....Luke 10:19.....lets walk in it... :)
ps.. In rereading your post, I would think if you are telling the world about how satan influences man in general...i somewhat understand, but if to the church, (His body) another....
