Christ's righteousness,freedom from self / Larry Pullega

Self righteousness is not the cure for psychological guilt,it's the cause of it. Outside of having Christ's righteousness alone, the very best we can do is produce more self righteousness.we'd be better off quitting while we're ahead.Pride goes before a fall.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          If we're miserable,it's not because of a lack of our righteousness, but because of a presence of it.    When people call your good evil, don't fight it ,they're right.  Self righteousness requires self defense,Christ's righteousness requires no defense. Christ's death paid for all our past ,present and future sins so the defense rests. When Christ's righteousness is all the righteousness we have and need ,then our righteousness is nowhere in the picture for anyone to attack.  We can't get any more righteous than having Christ's righteousness                                                                                                                                                                                                                             What sin is there left over from Christ's finished cross work for us to worry about,or depress over? The believer has His life now,so don't look for an absence of sin in your life, but in His life.                                                                                                                                                                                                   If we're gonna feel bad about our bad, then we might as well feel bad about our good since it's also bad.We are entirely new creations in Christ. If God judged us on the basis of our good, then we'd all go to hell, but thank God the believer in Christ ,is only judged by God on the basis of what He did for us,and not on the basis of what we do for Him.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Our problem isn't that we do bad. Our problem is thinking that we ever do good.Righteousness produced by ourselves is self righteousness. No wonder God says that all our righteousness are as filthy rags and that none does good no not one.,but thank God we now stand in His righteousness ,and no longer stand in our own!              If we could add our righteousness to Christ's righteousness,we'd corrupt it. If God were asking us for our righteousness, then why did He have to save us from it?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Here's some instant freedom for us when we make ourselves miserable......Self is the cause of all our misery......Christ all our joy.  We never have to rack our minds over Christ's righteousness ; we know it's perfect and thank God Christ's righteousness is the only righteousness there is,the only righteousness we have and the only righteousness we need!      If it ain't Christ's righteousness only ,don't worry about it because it's not your's to worry about.
