Christ alone:Our only freedom / Larry Pullega

. "and you are complete in Him,who is the head of all principality and power."(.col 2:10) Wanting everything is bondage.Needing nothing is freedom. All our needs are met in Christ alone. We have Christ's life now,and we don't have to worry about our life anymore than Christ has to worry about His life !We're free to treasure all the cares and fears of the world, but it would make no sense since they're no longer ours to be miserable over.To try to add anything to Christ is to add bondage.Everything that we try to add to Christ,is our attempt to find peace and joy in them, yet He Himself is our peace, and joy (eph 2:14),(gal 5:22).The peace and joy we seek in all our struggles to get more is our own pride;our own arrogance to think we can produce the fruit of the spirit. The fact that we feel we are in need is more evidence that the flesh which always lacks and always falls short of the glory of God is driving our life around ,rather than the Spirit which never lacks.Since freedom is only found in Christ alone, then if we could add to Christ, what else is there to add but bondage? To liberate ourselves from the only one who can free us,is to liberate ourselves into bondage. If we're still in need, then what we're we saved from? It's the flesh which is no longer our's which is in need. If we want more than our freedom in Christ from bondage.then what else is there to get but bondage? The painful truth is that we love to make ourselves miserable, otherwise we wouldn't do it.It gives us something to boast about, something to do to try to pay God back for all He did for us.It gives us an excuse to think we could do anything good in the first place, when God says "none does good",but thank God the truth is always available to set us free.
