Book Review - Fire of the Raging Dragon by Don Brown
This is a Zondervon book I received to blog my review. At first, I couldn't seem to get into the book - I didn't connect with the characters, it was filled with facts and seeming void of emotion. Unlike some books, it took me till about the 3rd chapter before I was engaged to the degree that I was reluctant to put the book down.
What is so unique about this novel is that the players are the U.S., China and Tawain governemts and their military (particularly Navy) forces. Further, this does not read like so many Christian novels, which seem to reflect writers that don't know the real world out there. This book was so incredibly believable with real facts woven throughout, that I had to frequently remind myself that it was indeed a novel. I was also reminded how much I dread our national debt and the possible consequences. Ultimately, the President in the book has to make a pivotol decision which hits as personal as it gets, involving his own daughter. Well written, thought provoking novel, parts of which could prove prophetic.
