2 Corinthians 6:17-18; Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
The Lord has placed a message upon my heart for today that has to do with us as believers. We are not to touch the unclean thing. So often in our lives we find ourselves falling back into the sin in our lives that separated us from the Lord Jesus. We want to belive that since we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus, we can dabble with the things of the world that cause us to sin and continue to fall short of the glory of God in our lives. We then continue down this path until we are surrounded by the enemy and his will for our life which leads to destruction.
We must be aware of the wiles of the devil. We must know his strategies against us and live in direct opposition to them. Do not let the enemy take control of your lives once again by listening to his lies. Do not let the cares of this world choke out the peace and the joy that the Lord Jesus has freely given you. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us; Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour. Remember this my brethren, for the devil seeks to destroy you and his strategy is to do so no matter what the cost. He will not stop his attacks upon your lives for even a second, so be sober and vigilant as the Lord has called you to do in opposition to the wiles of the enemy.
Do not let your victory in the Lord Jesus to be taken away by the enemy, for the cares of this world are such that they will choke out the word if we let it. Luke 4:19 states; And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word and it becommeth unfruitful. Do not become unfruitful in your lives by allowing the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches to lead you to fall. The Lord is calling all of us who are believers in Him to be aware of this strategy of the enemy and fight against it. We must not touch the unclean things of this life, for if we do so, we do it to our own peril.
As followers of Jesus we are to lead victorious lives in Him. We are to fight against the sins that so easilly beset us, and trust in the Lord always. We cannot avoid doing those things which we did at first when we gave our lives to Jesus. The Lord is calling us to pray and read His holy word which will rstore our souls each day as we follow Him. The Lord Jesus commands us to pray. Matthew 26:41 states; Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We are also to read God's word. 2 Timothy 2:15 states; Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman need not to be ahamed, rightly dividing the truth. We see here that the Lord is calling us to devote ourselves to the study of the word of truth which is God's holy word.
It is time to repent my brethren of the sins that we are commiting which are meant only to kill, steal, and destroy. Sin is pleasurable for a season, and may look pleasing now, however do not be deceived, we will be held to give an account one day before our Lord of the things that we have done while we were upon this earth. Sin is destructive, and separates us from God. John 10:10 states; For the thief cometh not but for to steal, kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Brethren, understand the strategy of the enemy. Learn of this by reading and meditating on God's holy word. Understand that by touchiung the unclean thing, we are placing ourselves once again into sinful practices that separate us from the Lord Jesus.
Trust in the Lord, for He loves you. 2 Peter 3:9 states; The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all men should come to repentance. The Lord Jesus is calling us to repent. We must ask the Father for forgiveness of our trespasses and sins, and turn away from the unclean things that are in our lives, and be wholly separated unto the Lord. Understand that those of us who claim to be followers of Jesus must put aside all of the workings of the flesh which leads to destruction. I exort you brethren, touch not the unclean thing.
