Today is Saturday, what a relaxing day! When I think of Saturday I think of fun and being with my family and friends.
What is it that you are thinking about today? Are you worried about money, food, or clothes?
In the Bible it says, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink: nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow or reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: They neither toil or spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like on of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is , and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, o you of little faith? Therefore do not worry saying, What shall we eat or what shall we drink or what shall we wear. For after all these things the Gentiles seek. for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about tomorrow about it's own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Matthew 6: 25-33 NKJV)
I bet you thought that I was going to be writing about other things, huh? Maybe since it's Saturday I should have, but I really feel strongly about this. I am not wealthy person by any means. I am also not poverty stricken and there are some days that I think about where food will come from, how I will pay my bills, how will I feed my dog? These are legitimate questions, right?
Sure they are, just don't dwell on them for too long. God has not given us a spirit of fear but He has given us a sound mind. So, we can trust Him to take care of us. It's the trust aspect that makes so many of us squirm.
Trust is giving every part of your life to God and not holding anything back from him! Let Him in, he does not care what you have done or where you have been, you need only to ask Him to come and cleanse your sins and then place your trust in Him! Isn't that awesome!
We do serve an awesome God and guess what He loves you!
Have a blessed Saturday! Keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ!
