Leaving Your Burdens With God

Phillipians 4:4-9

Fear, anxiety, fretting and dread are powerful emotions. And if we are not careful these emotions can cripple us and get us out of line with Gods will. What are we to do then ? We are to take those things that cause us fear and anxiety to God. And we are to leave them and the circumstances with Him.

Many times we fail to pray when trouble comes. We seek solutions in our own strength and power. This may work to some degree, but it is no match for simply placing something in Gods hands and doing exactly what He tells you to do about it and when He tells you to do it.. We get in tune with His will and His timing. And being in agreement with His timing is very important.

Many times we pray and then we pick our burden right back up again. So we are still miserable. The truth is, according to this passage we will not experience peace untill we in prayer take what is burdening us to the Father and leave it in His hands. When we do this then we will know the supernatural peace that He can give. The key is to truly leave it in His hands.

Also we are to do this with thanksgiving. We are to thank Him in advance for what He is going to do. If we are thanking Him that means we know that He is going to take our burden. Thanking Him in advance is trusting Him to take care of the situation, and do what you cannot do. We are trusting Him, laying it in His hands, believeing that He will do what is best.

When we do this, when we truly, prayerfully leave a burden with God then He will fill you with peace. He will fill you with a peace that will defy logic. If you still dont feel peace about something then it is possible that you have not truly given it over to God. It is not always easy to let go of something and let God fix it. It can be hard in fact. But you will see that when you truly lay a burden down to Him, and choose to leave it with Him, refusing to pick it back up again, you will see that He is trustworthy and that no matter what He does it will be for your benefit in the end.

Thanks for the advice. I have a burden I'm going to turn over to Him right now!
