A few days ago, my family gathered together to enjoy a family movie: myself, my husband, our children, and a few of my husband’s shipmates.
Out of the whole movie, there was ONE QUESTION that stuck with me….and remains in my spirit, still today.
There was a little 13 year old boy who was trying to discover his purpose in life. There were many facets of his life that he didn’t quite understand, so he begin to question. She responded with the sharpest and most thought provoking answer she could have given, at that moment…….“Are you going to sit there “what ‘if’ing” all day or actually go out into the world….?” Amazing! I responded to the movie as if she were speaking to me personally. Yes, I WILL!...and immediately I journaled it, as I do many of the things that speak to my heart.
So, "are you going to sit there "what 'if' ing" all day or actually go out into the world? What's your response? Just think about….
What if you died daily? What if you chose not to compromise? What if you finished what you started? What if you forgave? What if you got up and did something about it? What if you learned to keep quiet? What if you spoke up when necessary? What if you went beyond mediocracy? What if you handed over that situation to God? What if you prayed more about the “problem” than you talked about it? What if you embraced who you are that you may become who God intends for you to be? What if you accepted who he/she is and allowed God to change them…not fix them yourself?
What if you decided to embrace life and walk in purpose?
….but, are we going to sit here “what if’ing” all day? Or are we going to make it happen? The “what if’s” we ask ourselves each day should cause us to rise up and “go out into the world”. To Conquer. What if today was the day that your whole life changed for God’s glory?
