Gods Sufficient Grace

II Corinthians 12:7-10

Often we find ourselves in situations that cause us to think that there is now way that we will make it through what we are going through. Im sure we have all been there at one time or another. Many people have been in that situation many times in their lives. It could be anything from the sudden passing of a loved one, a spouse leaving us, a job loss, or a serious illness. We face times like these and we feel that we just do not have the strength to make it. We feel weak and overpowered by our circumstances. We feel small and that everything is out of control.

Im sure Paul felt this way about the thorn in the flesh that he had. We do not know for sure what this trouble was but im sure that it was something that gave Paul a tremendous amount of suffering. He asked God to remove it three times and yet God did not remove it. Instead He told Paul that His grace would be enough fro him to handle his thorn in the flesh.

That grace is still available to us today. When we are in situations like Paul where there seems to be no end in sight to what is bothering us we can rest assured that just as Gods grace was enough for Paul it will be for us also. God can strengthen us and make us able to bear what He is calling us to bear. We can make it through things that we do not feel that we can by His grace. God Holy Spirit can impart supernatural strength and comfort to us. He is the great enabeler ! Isaiah 40:29-31 says that He give power to them that are weak and that he will increase our strenth. What a beautiful promise from god. And that is exactly what it is, a promise from Holy God.

The question is, do we believe that promise ? Are we couunting on and believeing that He will do just what He said ? When we trust God to increase our strength He will do that. We can face and overcome our circumstances by the grace that He gives us, the same grace that He gave Paul.

Ask god to give you the grace you need to make it through whatever you are facing. He will do that and more because of His great love for you.
