How He Made Me

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. Isaiah 43:1

I was feeling quite inadequate this morning regarding my work here at lifegate church. Especially about the warfare to which I am called.  A sense of heaviness came over me, yet I thank the Lord that He came to my rescue.  The first verse read this morning met my need.  It is in Isaiah 43:1, But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

I quickly thought, “I am unique because God created me, and what He formed me to be, therefore, I must be the right man for the place where He has put me."  We cannot blame God, nor suspect that He has missed His mark in forming each of us for His work.  Remember we are His workmanship His masterpiece, (Ephesians 2:10), that means He designed us just the way He wants.  It is up to each of us to carry out the gift and talent He has given.

We live in a world where many seek to copy those who are famous.  We see football, basketball and baseball jerseys worn by people who wish they were the superstar.  God created us just the way He wants and demonstrates His creating skill through gifts and talents specifically designed for you.    The next sentence goes on to say,—"Fear not: for I have redeemed thee."  We have been redeemed by the Lord Himself, and this is why we should never again be subject to fear.  Oh, that this fact could be turned into practice, so that we rejoice, or at least feel the peace of God!

Paul tells us in Romans 9:20 that we cannot question God and His purpose in creating each of us.  “But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, why did you make me like this?” This leads me to be what I am.  Who I am is Peter, what I am is a Believer in Christ.  Here, is the great comfort.  We are to stop being fearful and as we do, we identify that the Lord made us, and not we ourselves.

Be Blessed with His Best,

Pastor Peter
