It Feels Like the End of the World!!!

For over a week Teller County Colorado has been walking on eggshells. Now El Paso County joins us. What am I talking about? I'm speaking of ARSON. We have an arsonist. Our sheriff believes we have about three arsonists working in sync on ATVs going through Pike National Forest setting fires. AND WE ARE IN A DROUGHT! Once the fires are set its like setting fire to kindling.

Yesterday, my husband sang at a 7th Day Adventist service and someone came in an announced that volunteers were being called out for a new fire. The one from our neighborhood still burning, most resources were already there. We went outside and looked and it appeared as the whole of Ute Pass was on fire.

Later we found out it was a favorite hiking place of residents of Colorado Springs, Waldo Canyon up to Rampart Range Road. A HUGE AREA. Now, less than 24 hours later the fire encompasses more than 2200 acres in rugged mountain terrain. 1050 homes in Colorado Springs have been evacuated. Glen Eyrie, which houses Navigators ministry has been evacuated to a local church, Woodmen Valley Chapel. An entire town, Manitou Springs, is in mandatory evacuations now, and has been since 1 a.m. Wildlife is trying to get away.

Please pray. This is very serious. Everyone we know lives there. We moved here from there. SO...not only is the forest in my area on fire, the area closest to my heart is on fire as well. Please, please, please pray.

If you'd like to read about it, you can go to a live feed on kktv.com.
