My Brain Hurts

All of us, from time to time, enter into periods of our lives...sometimes short...sometimes long, enduring times....when our brains are so overloaded with information that it hurts. That's me right now.

Seems to me that everytime I enter into a serious Bible study with a group of people the enemy goes into overdrive trying to steer my thinking to the right or the left when it needs to be straight on into the WORD.

Our small group consists of seven couples and two sisters-in-law. We all live in the sticks between Cripple Creek, Florissant, Divide and Woodland Park, Colorado, if you know the area. Our close knit little group has been doing a study since the early autumn that has been intense, covering many different topics through a DVD ministry from Focus on the Family. All of us....I repeat....ALL OF US have been under severe attack since this study began. The attacks have been blatant, some emotional, some physical, all worrisome and time consuming...oh, and yes, brain pain. We've had relatives all of a sudden having terminal cancer; one man was arrested in our group because of a clerical error in the County Clerk's office; two of us suffer from autoimmune disease and we both have gotten sicker as the study continues. The list goes on and on.

My brain hurts from thinking about all of it! But mostly, my heart is heavy because of the suffering of these precious saints of God who are attacked. Our enemy definitely has a plan for all of us but the One who made our brains and our hearts is greater!

I suppose Satan's brain hurts, too....but he sort of deserves it. I'd rather his brain hurt than mine! How 'bout you?

That Satan is quite the stinker! Hazel, I know how distractions can hold you back from learning about God's word. If I can help in any way, let me know. I'll be happy to meet with you in the chatrooms on a day which is good for you to talk about God and the bible. Invite friends to join us if you like.

Let me know if you like the idea...

Yeah, it's amazing how the devil tries to distract us from drawing nearer to God with sickness, legal and financial troubles, etc. But like you said, the One Who Made our brains and hearts Is Greater so why fear the enemy.
