If I were to teach leadership to the church, I would require those who desire to become leaders to listen to this sermon by Dr. King. This message is as relevant today as it was when Dr. King preached it to the congregation at Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1967.
I don't know if there has been another leader in America such as Dr. King. I know for sure not in my life time. I have not seen a leader who stood up for righteousness and let that dictate his stance. And even with him, we tend to overlook the foundation on which he stood on, righteousness. His stance on civil rights was a stance for righteousness, his stance on the war was a cry for righteousness. Where are those leaders at today? Those FEARLESS LEADERS who don't mind being persecuted for righteousness' sake. I can say this, they are not coming out of the world, but out of the church. Believers who are willing to "follow after Christ and take up their cross".
Where are the apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers who are willing to march, sit or be jailed for righteousness' sake? Not to say that there aren't any, but where are they. For all that Dr. King did and was, he was first and foremost a pastor, evangelist, prophet and maybe even an a apostle who defended the gospel and righteousness at all cost.
Remember him for that and for that he has his inheritance.
***commend your FEARLESS LEADERS for taking a stand for righteousness.
Thank you Pastor Edward A. Smith(Zoe Christian Fellowship), Bishop Clarence McClendon(Full Harvest Int.) and Pastor Donald White Sr. for your FEARLESS LEADERSHIP.
