Some time ago I watched this TBN Praise The Lord Broadcast with host Steve Harvey and guest Tyrese and the Holy Spirit reminded me that you really have to rely on the Him to guide you in the truth [1Corinthians 12:3-6]. Cautioning me not to get caught in 'who' is speaking but pay attention to what's being spoken.
During this interview, while Tyrese was speaking on having a relationship with God, he goes on to say; "not every bodies walk with is going to be consistent with their talk of God, but,...as long as you talking about Him!" My response was, "WHAT, THAT'S NOT THE WORD OF GOD."
In no way, shape or form is that Biblical, but the host, Steve Harvey and this gathering of Christians acknowledged it as truth, mind you with Bishop TD Jakes backstage. Now, Steve Harvey may not have known this not to be the truth, but Bishop Jakes should have, and he should have corrected Tyrese and his statement when he came to the stage during the next segment. That's what it means to "defend the Gospel" [Philippians 1:17]. That's what preaching the Gospel is all about. I wondered how many youngsters heard that or will hear it and accept as truth. And then my thought was where was the man of God in this equation, he should have been sitting in between these two.
TBN, please stop going praising men and go back to praising the Lord.
Take note of 'Who's Feeding You'. Jesus said, "My sheep hear, know and follow My voice"[John 10:1-30]. Just because a man is speaking of God does not mean that he himself knows God.
Therefore, I encourage you to get rooted, built upand established in the word [Colossians 2:6-8] that you may not be led astray.
Stop looking at the 'gift' of a man and start looking at the 'spirit' behind it. Stop looking at the 'ministry', but start looking at the 'Lord' over it. Stop looking at the 'activities' and start looking at the 'God' of it.
