For so many centuries, man has spread false, ungodly doctrine, leading many astray from the truth of God. In (2Peter 2:1-3), we read of the fate which will befall those who pervert the gospel message of God through Christ Jesus. Here it says:
"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them-bringing swift judgement upon themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping."
Such things such as greed, fame, and the pride of life, have enticed these workers of evil to chase after the rewards of this world. They use the gullible, weak-willed, and spiritually uninformed as stepping stones to achieve their misguided and lustful goals. But, while they may fool many people, leading them into paths of eternal destruction, the Lord God knows of the deceiver's wickedness. He will see to their utter annihilation in a way they cannot even imagine!
The pure and simple truth from the Holy word of God is this:
Man was lost in his sins, unable to do anything to save himself from eternal death. But God, in His great love and mercy, sent His only Son, Christ Jesus as a scarifice for the sins of all people everywhere.
Because Christ could keep the laws of God perfectly, something we could not do for ourselves, His precious blood was poured out on the cross, and covers over our sins in the sight of God. It is because of this act of unmatched love, that we have God's gift of grace to forgive our sins through faith and obedience in the gospel of Jesus Christ. See (Ephesians 1: 7, 2: 1-9).
Anyone who teaches anything other than this truth is a false teacher! Turn and run from those who would add to or take away from this doctrine. Of course, there is much more to learn about maturing in Christ. This process takes the constant study of God's word, and the fellowship with others who are as purely dedicated to the basic gospel truths as the Lord desires.
Let us keep in our hearts always the words of (2John 1: 7-8), which says:
"Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not loose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully."
