Quit Smoking!! It can Harm Skin...

Yes, it is true that smoking can harm your skin. It can contribute to wrinkle and accelerates the skin`s aging process. In fact, many professional say that the damage caused by smoking is similar to extensive sun damage.

 How does smoking lead to wrinkles?
Nicotine in cigarettes causes blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin which is called as vasoconstriction. This harms the blood flow. Due to less blood flow skin does not gets enough oxygen and nutrients. The chemical of in tobacco smoke harms collagen and elastin which are the fibers that provide elasticity and strength to the skin. As a results skin get sag and wrinkle prematurely.
In addition to this continuous exposure to the heat from burning cigarettes pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke this may contribute to wrinkles.

Therefore to avoid these causes you have to follow some steps:

  • To improve this condition you have to consume a healthy diet including fruits and vegetables, high fiber foods such as whole grains, beans and lentils.
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. This will help you to flush out toxins from your body and also helps to keep skin hydrated.
  • Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake. Drink green tea. As it is contains antioxidants which are beneficial for skin.
  • Increase your intake of Vitamin C. As smoking diminish your body, and this will helps to building collagen in skin.
  • Exercise regularly as this will help your blood circulation.

Thus above tips will help you to improve your skin condition and try to quit smoking.
