As I lie here tonight in bed,
Tossing and turning,
Sleep not coming easy tonight,
I rise off the sheets and step on the cool cold floor.
To the couch I go,
Quilt in hand.
I shall lie out here in the cool darkness,
Let the melodius rythm of the tick tock from the clock fill my ears.
As I lie,
I turn on my left side.
Soon my room is in awhole new perspective.
Car lights gleam through the window,
Pressing it's coloring through the peeks of the curtains.
Shines it shadows against the wall.
I am no longer in my home.
I am somewhere new,
Somewhere familiar yet far away.
All the sounds,
My heart beat races from a gentle pitter patter,
To the sounds of the drums beating,
Bum, bum, bum.
hmm... how I like this,
But still the same.
I don't know why tonight,
Things look so different,
But they do.
They just do...
