There are alot of stories about teens killing themselves, but it's more complicated than that. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for people 15-24, and the fourth leading cause of death for people 10-14 and that is still rising. Alot op people think suicide is selfish, but you have to see it from the other perspective. Do you think these kids want to kill themselves, they would probably rather change their live than die, but they feel like they have no other choice. Take it from me, when you're gonna commit suicide you don't think about the consequences; you think about how no one will miss you, how you will finally be free from the pain, how your life will be so much better than death.
Alot of suicides are caused by the stress kid's have at home, with their friends, and the most direct cause for suicide is the words people say. Not alot of people think about what they're gonna say to somebody they don't like, or who starts mouthing them. But we should, it doesn't matter if they started it or if you start it, think about what you say. What kids are told everyday is what affects them, it's a large cause for suicide, and sometimes school shootings; like Columbine.
We put all the blame on the kids who do these things, when really they're only partly guilty. We have our influence on what they do, and we need to own up to it. To many people are killing themselves, or hurting themselves or others because of what we say. It doesn't matter what they say to you, if you say the wrong thing the consequences can be far graver than anything you can think of.
