I watched a movie on Saturday, & it gave me an idea. The movie was Revolver, the main character was Mr. Green, Jason Statham, and his main enemy is Mr. Gold. You don't really figure anything out about him till a little bit after the middle of the movie. He, in the movie, pulled off the greatest con of all time. He made everyone think that he was them, & to understand that you probably need to watch the movie. But that's what gave the thought, the same way Mr. Gold made everyone think that he was them, that every time we sin the devil makes us think it's all us.
The devil pulls off the greatest con of all history every day, & we don't even know. I've noticed this in myself quite a bit recently. Every time I disrespect my parents, like when we have an argument, I rationalize by saying,"I'm just human," or ,"It's just how I am." And that's wrong, it's a foothold the devil had in my life. Very rarely when we sin is it 100% you.
It’s a foothold the devil already has, or that you made for the devil, in your life. I look back and I see that it's normally 75-99% me & 1-25% Satan when I sin, depending on how strong the foothold in our life is. But it teaches me how closely I need to watch my life, & how sneaky the devil can be.
So may GOD be with us, as we look for the footholds the devil has & try not to make another foothold for him in our life.
