I believe in miracles. I believe in the God of miracles. I honestly do. Even in this the 21st century when many are taught even in congregations across this nation that miracles have ceased, I believe. I feel sorry for people who will set under a man who calls himself a preacher that lies to his congregation that miracles are no longer being performed by God. One thing I do know in those congregations faith cannot operate. How do I know? Simple, the word of God proclaims “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17 KJV). Therefore in those congregations where miracles are not taught or even believed for faith cannot operate. How sad to be part of a group like that.
While on my way to get a battery for our church van I was listening to a radio program and the host was talking to an elderly lady that had called in who was fearful of the trouble that is going on in Washington, D.C. between politicians. She made a statement to the host that led me to believe that her faith was not in God whatsoever. Not judging her, just listening to her speak. She told the host, “If my Social Security check does not come in the first of the month I will lose everything”. Fear was gripping her heart. She had placed her hope and faith in a government that was providing for her livelihood. My heart went out to her. But, she was building her life on sand and the storms were revealing a weak foundation that is crumbling all around her. Obviously she did not attend a house of worship that believed in the miracle working power of God. If she did, then she must have missed those faith building messages.
I believe in miracles. I believe in the God of miracles. I know He still does them even today. I don’t care what other men and women who stand in pulpits in this nation say. I have seen too many for you to make me doubt. Unemployed, unable to draw unemployment benefits because the non-profit organization with which I worked opted out for its employees, I saw God work miracles for my wife and me time and time again. House payment paid on time, car payment paid on time, utility bills paid up, food on our table, health issues taken care of, and time after time the God of miracles came through to show Himself strong in our behalf. Were we special? No, not any more than you. It is just that we proved God. We honestly did. We took Him at His word. We are in Texas because of miracles that God performed. We live in our home because of a miracle working God. We pastor a growing congregation because of the God of miracles. You have come too late to tell me that God no longer works miracles today. I would simply laugh at you and walk off feeling absolutely sorry that in your time of need you have to rely on your own strength and ability. I will stick with what I believe thank you very much.
I awoke today with my spirit man dwelling on this thought of miracles. Perhaps I write to someone today who stands in a particular need in your life. Healing, financial miracles, salvation of lost loved ones, lost job, a marriage that is falling apart, a doctor’s report that does not sound good, closed doors that need to be open, broken relationships that look impossible, the list is endless. Our world is filled with absolute fear all around the globe. God asked His prophet Isaiah “Whose report will you believe?” I ask you the same. Will you believe Washington’s report? Will you believe the media’s report? Will you believe those who do not believe in the God of miracles? Or will you believe God?
I believe in miracles. I believe in the God of miracles. Why? (1) Because the word of God plainly states that Jesus Christ is “..the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8 KJV).(2) Because if you can speak faith to the obstacle which stands in your pathway at this very moment and believe God the Bible states emphatically that it shall be removed out of your and my path (Mark 11:23 KJV). How long do you have to keep speaking? Until it is gone. Don’t look at circumstances, look to God. (3) Because the Lord’s hand is not weak (Numbers 11:23 New Century Version).
Do you face a mountain today my friend? This is what Jesus said, “Again I tell you, if two of you on earthagree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and [a]everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and [a]everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.”(Matthew 18:19 Amplified Version) I’m one; you are one, which makes two from the math class I attended as a kid. Distance is nothing to God. We can join our faith together even as you read this today. That mountain has to remove. That obstacle cannot stay when we join forces together against the enemy of our soul. Believing God is simply resting in the assurance that he has the power to do what it is that you face at this very moment. Washington may not come through, but God will. I believe in miracles. I believe in the God of miracles and He has one coming your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
