Acer Iconia Tab A500 may be not be the most obvious choice at first

There are a few obvious reasons to doubt the transition like a well-entrenched installed base of laptop and netbook users that have no real need for another computer. Price point is another; you can get a decent netbook for $250 while tablet computers are $400 minimum.

Functionality is also limited by the form factor, like missing physical keyboards and input ports (full-sized USB and SD, for example), and HP HSTNN-IB73 Battery life that doesn’t last more than a day. Although the horsepower is improving, top-end PCs still vastly outperform the best tablets currently available.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 may be not be the most obvious choice at first, but its sturdy, metal body, powerful speakers, and battery life make it a tablet worth considering for anyone who wants something different.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a bit of a left-field choice, with its simple design and large form factor, but this underdog will surprise you with its quality hardware and long HP HSTNN-XB79 Battery life.

Sporting a 10.1-inch display panel and weighing in at a hefty 730g, the A500 may not be the most portable tablet around, but it feels durable and its screen size is big enough for comfortable viewing.

These machines excel in providing well over five hours of HP 338794-001 Battery life—even with a discrete graphics chipset, making them the power user’s best friend. Acer has launched the next series of the TimelineX, currently available in North America, offering an upgrade in performance with Intel’s 2nd generation Core i3 and i5 processors.

average about nine hours of HP 338794-001 Battery life with integrated graphics. If you decide to tack on a discrete graphics chip, Acer is offering Nvidia’s GeForce GT 540M and 520M with Optimus.

Optimus is a technology that automatically switches the GPU on when the computer needs it for taxing 3D tasks (i.e. gaming) and switches it off when you’re Word processing or browsing the Internet. Ultimately, this technology helps save on battery life and, according to Acer, offers a HP KU531AA Battery life of up to eight hours.
