Who Gives Kudos:

   [19 May 2011 | Thursday]

The words are not mine; I quote Pastor Tony Evans from Dallas, Texas for when I read them they were like an arrow of excitement within my spirit because I realize the power that the body of Christ, the church possesses on the face of the earth. Dr. Evans said, “God first checks with the church house before He does anything with the White House. I realize that it is way too early to be dancing around my living room and shouting high praises, but those statements cause me to want to do just that. Whether many of us get it or not, the church is the pulse center for the Kingdom of God on this planet. Just like my heart inside my body keeps me functioning and able to do the will of God, the church is the pulse center for what God Himself longs to accomplish on this earth.

I would love to have been a fly on the wall, or a bug in the grass listening as Jesus told twelve men that He was putting a church together and that the gates of hell would not be able to stop its force or influence in the world. Those twelve men could not wrap their heads around such a thought. They had never heard of this thing called the church.  It was revolutionary. But, you can bet that the enemy was intently listening that particular day. Then Jesus informed His disciples just how powerful a force the church would be. They would have keys. Keys of such magnitude that whatever they bound on earth would be bound in heaven and whatever they loosed on earth would be loosed in heaven. Wow! What authority. What power. What an ability. What a presence. What fear the church must put into the heart of the devil when the body of Christ begins to function as the body of Christ on planet earth.

Only two times in the entire Bible is the word “keys” mentioned. One in Matthew, the other is in the book of Revelation. Yet, in both places the idea of the key is that the person who is holding them has the power to open and shut. Following our Wednesday evening service my wife and I came home changed our clothes and went for a walk around the neighborhood. Leaving the front door I placed the key which I possess into the lock and secured our home. Upon returning I once again placed the key into the lock and gained entrance. Had there been anyone else trying to enter my home they would have been considered a thief. I hold the key of authority to my home.  I possess the power to lock and unlock. The same holds true for the church. Yet I fear we have placed our keys some where we cannot find them and the enemy runs rampant while the church sets idle.

Are you aware of the various keys you and I as believers possess? There are many. For example, there is (1) The key of agreement.  The prophet Amos asked the question, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3 KJV). Jesus said, “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven”. (Matthew 18:19 Amplified Version) The key of agreement is all about unity, a coming together, and a unifying force which refuses to be moved. What accomplishes could be made against the enemy of our soul if the body of Christ in America would step into this arena. (2) There is the key of confession. Read Mark 11:23 and see just how powerful confession actually is. (3) There is the key of faith. Without faith we cannot even please God (Hebrews 11:6). With it we can pull down strong holds, change history, bind enemies, destroy principalities and powers in heavenly places, possess kingdoms, and see lives renewed and restored.

Obviously there are many more keys that what I have mentioned. You allow the Holy Spirit to show you others in His word. I simply want us to be the church no matter where we find our self today. In my spirit I hear a voice that tells me to stop “doing” church and “be” the church. Heaven is looking at us. We are the pulse center. May we beat with a passion for the Master, but display mercy and grace to all who we come in contact. Change things around you today. You possess the keys. Use them wisely!!!!!!!!
