As we approach the time when we must make our decision and cast our vote for a particular individual, it is important to understand the meaning of a Christian vote. It makes no difference if a candidate belongs to a particular political party that has adopted certain policies with which we may not agree, the importance aspect is whether the candidate embraces the principles given to us from within the Bible. We must try to overcome out predetermined notions concerning all political parties and consider the candidate and his or her acceptance of principles that are in alignment with the wishes of God. Anyone that is narrow minded in their views concerning parties and not the individual is not about to examine the views of the candidate and we will probably remain in the position in which we find ourselves now…. We got to this place because we seemed to overlook our responsibility as a Christian and put God first and make certain assumptions because of the affiliation of the candidate.
We now have an opportunity to correct the errors in judgment that we have made and consider the principles of the Bible in relation to the candidate rather then the political party to which that person belongs. Using the political party of the candidate as a basis for our decision is how we got into this problem and we must overcome this policy in making our decision. The party of the candidate is meaningless if the candidate does not hold to Biblical doctrine. In fact, it does not even matter if the candidate is a Christian at all, but we can examine the past of that person and discover their instincts and persuasions. The basis of our decision should be whether the person for which we vote will attempt to bring this country “UNDER GOD..” once again !!!
We can look at the record of any candidate and discover their feeling concerning aspects such as school prayer and many other actions that they have endorsed and see if they are in alignment with Biblical doctrine. The party to which these candidates belong makes no difference and it is narrow minded to assume that these people agree with the platform of the party. We should look at the person and not the party and make our decision based upon their thoughts and actions in relation to Christian principles….
We have a chance to begin to return to a Christian based nation and reverse the direction that we seem to be taking. But, we must remember that the wishes of God come before our own personal feelings and we should do this not only in a political election but in our own lives also. We can make a difference if we put the lessons given to us by God in front of our own ideas of what is the best thing to do and trust that God knows more then we do about what is best !!!
