Have you ever heard that statement contained in the title of this Blog? Have you ever said it? As a servant of the Lord I have heard every story you can possibly imagine about why people don't need Christ.
Some younger people might say, "I'm not ready yet". Certain socialites might stay so constantly busy keeping up with the Jones' they don't have time to say anything. Certain Theologians might have a head swelled so full of knowledge with a heart full of so much lust that their words are completely void of the Spirit of God (this includes prosperity teachers selling holy water on TV). Some people might use drugs and/or alcohol say, "I just don't understand why God allows certain things to happen", as they themselves stay soaked up and remain blinded by mood altering substance daily. The gamblers are obsessed with finding the pie in the sky dream of achieving wealth without having to work for it. Perhaps they do slide a $100.00 in the Tithe dish occasionally to justify their rotten conscience. The business man's goal is to become the millionaire and perhaps buy his way to Heaven (something like building the Tower of Babel). The intellectual is always trying to figure out or reason with God without conviction or any type of accountability. Some people even foolishly say, "There is no God". Then you get back to the person that has an attitude where the heart says, "I don't need you God, I can do it myself". That is the self-centered crowd.
The self-centered crowd is just exactly where the Devil wants them to be. Self-centeredness is just enough to cause people to miss Christ and His blessing of Salvation for the human soul. I admit some people are simply ignorant to the truth and I hope you're not one of them. Then there are some people who constantly dodge God. Then you have the religious crowd who live to excuse and justify their life of disobedience to God and sinful living. And then on the other side you have people that just don't care about God in ant way. Out of them all...most are void, empty, and like well's without water. So, where is Christ our Saviour among this crowd of people? Let me call your attention to the fact, "Christ is there". Christ is right behind the sinner that is leading the way in every step. That's where the attitude (that I titled this blog) comes from. The title states, "I don't need you God, I can do it myself".
What do think God thinks about this mess within the human family? How does God see this crowd that I mentioned above? Some people might say, "Well I believe we are all children of God". "Sinner and Saint alike". WRONG! A child of God is someone who has accepted Christ for personal forgiveness from their sins. God's Grace (through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ) redeems, forgives, and makes a sinful person into a child of God. Natural people aren't naturally born as children of God. They are polluted with sin! Children of God are born of the Spirit just like the Bible says. Being born of the Spirit is not like a natural birth where a baby comes out. Being born of the Spirit is when the Spirit of God comes into the human soul because forgiveness is found. When the Spirit comes in...sin goes out! Glory! Christ is no longer behind you...NOW He's leading the way. Excuse me for getting slightly off the subject but I just get blessed writing and talking about Jesus. Anyway...
The Scriptural support for this Blog titled, "I don't need you God, I can do it myself", comes from the Book of Revelation in the third chapter. It focuses primarily on the Church of Laodicia that is simply a miniature picture of the last Church Age...Now! There were seven Churches and seven Ages described in John's Prophetic picture. The seven Angels were the seven elders of the seven local Churches. The Laodicean Church is the last Church that beautifully illustrates the last Age now...before the Rapture takes place. When you understand the closing of this last Age and actually witness what's going on outside of the body of Christ "Now"... Bible truth will stick out like a sore thumb. Read the following closely.
Rev 3:14-18...And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
First, in this last Age God speaks of a lukewarm crowd (much like the various crowds mentioned above). Second, He states, this lukewarm crowd was so sickening that it made God want to vomit. The reason God was sickened was the lax attitude of people in this final Age. God reprimanded that crowd of people for having the attitude that they were rich and increased with goods with need of nothing. Simply put these scoffers were saying, "I don't need you God, I can do it myself". That crowd is wretched, miserable, and blind... because they are without Christ. That crowd prompts me to write about Christ, His holiness, and the fact that Christians can live holy and without blame in the eyes of God. Now! Present Tense.
A Christ centered heart and life will change your complete character and make-up. A clean heart as the result of belief and trust in Christ for personal forgiveness is the secret to "real" Christian living. The spirit of the world may tell you something differently...but the Spirit of God will tell you to be holy as God is Holy. Don't get lax in your accountability to Christ. Don't excuse sin! Stay conscious to Christ and keep yourself in harmony with a life of obedience to Christ. Then your heart will say, "I need you Jesus, I can't make it without your help". Glory! I get happy just thinking about Christ! I'll close this Blog with the following verse,
Rom 8:32... He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Isn't that beautiful? Christ freely gives us all things! He's the giver of life! He's the giver of contentment! He'll bless your single life! He'll bless your marriage! He'll bless your job! He'll bless your personal life! He'll keep you on the straight and narrow path! He'll give you strength! He'll be your anchor and hope! Stay true to Him! He is true to you! Real Christianity isn't it beautiful! Don't be deceived! You can have a clean heart and do right because you're a child of God! Tell the world about Him! Yell, "GLORY!" Then your heart will say, "I need you Jesus, I can't make it without you".
Are you saved? Do you know every sin is forgiven? Trust Christ today! He'll give you what you need! He'll cleanse that heart whiter than snow. Everyone needs Christ! His arms are open! Spread the Word!
