Two of man's greatest escapes

Two of man's greatest escapes

As we journey through life as men and women of God and; students of God's Word there a certain things the Bible teaches that should not be overlooked or layed aside. The Bible teaches that men can "escape" temptation and corruption that's in the world. Please examine the following.

1 Cor 10:13...There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to "escape", that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Peter 1:4...Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having "escaped" the corruption that is in the world through lust.

In regards to temptation the word of God states that God is faithful to give man a way to escape temptation, which is simply a means of being able to bear the temptation. God is faithful. Isn't that beautiful? It also states that God will not allow a man of God to be tempted with more than he can bear. God knows the things that man encounters in life. God is faithfully present and able to meet that need in your life. Let me draw a little illustration.

In the Bible there are three types of man. With each type of man temptaion has a different effect. You have... 1. The sinner; 2. The saved man with a struggle caused from the Old Adam: 3. The saved man that has the Old Adam destroyed. The sinner yields to temptation alll the time. Without guilt or shame. The saved man with a struggle teters back and forth with temptation and sometimes yields to the temptation. He encounters guilt and shame. No victory over the temptataion...sometimes defeat. Then you have the saved man that's controlled by the Indwelling Spirit. Temptation doesn't have the same effect on a controlled man. He will not yield to temptation there is no guilt or shame. Christ gets the glory. No guilt or shame only joy and contentment caused from victory in Jesus. Isn't that beautiful? Meditate the following closely.

1 Cor 10:13...There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to "escape", that ye may be able to bear it.

Then you have those who partake in the divine nature. These people are born of God and have a God-given power to do right. Something happens in the new birth as man's nature and character is changed by the Grace of God. He escapes sin and corruption. The promises of Christ bring new life and Salvation to the human soul. Within this new nature experience man automatically "esapes the corruption that's in the world". Why? How? If you go back to the state of man in sin without Grace you have a man that lives and walks in subjection to sin and corruption everyday of his life. The standard sinful man lives by is corrupt standard where anything goes and there are no guidelines. The standard a child of God lives by is a godly standard that is created by the Grace of God in the Spirit. This is why the believer in Christ "escapes" or "breaks away" from corruption and sin. A new moral standard is given to the heart of man by the Spirit of God. The new moral standard is righteous and holy because it comes from the efffectual presence of Christ in your heart through Salvation. It's amn's way to escape corruption.

2 Peter 1:4...Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having "escaped" the corruption that is in the world through lust.

God saves men. God forgives men and God gives men a clean heart. Within this Christian experience men find two of the greatest escapes in life. Escaping temptation and escaping corruption! Think about it. It's beautiful! You can "escape" these things because God is behind this blessing. The Word of God says so! The Spirit of God says so! You can escape temptation! You have escaped corruption! God will take care of you because you are His property and His creation! We're blessed! We're victorius! We have a new nature given by God. We have great and precious promises that our faith is placed in and built upon. Here are a few.

Christ was promised as the one who bruise the head oFChrist Satan. Gen 3:15
Christ was promised to the seed of a woman. Gen 3:15
Christ was promised to be born of a virgin. Isaiah
Christ was promised to be born in Bethlehem. Micah 5
God promised "thy seed Christ" would bless many nations. Genesis 12, 17, 22
God promised that Christ would justify many. Isaiah 53
God promises that thy holy one would not see corruption. Psalms 14

Promises bring Salvation to the human soul. Salvation allows God to provide us with the means to make two of the greatest escapes known to man. Temptation and corruption. Aren't you glad God gives us a way to escape both? My heart sings, "Oh victory in Jesus my Savour forever..."
