Ephesians 6:13-15Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. - The use of armor goes back to ancient times and though it has changed, is still used in some forms today because of its effectiveness. In Ephesians the Apostle Paul describes faith in Christ as armor that will protect us from evil. We are told that without this "armor" we won't be able to stand our ground or stand firm. The world has lots of temptations and distractions that try to keep us from following God and coming to faith in his son Jesus, something we all need to do because Jesus is the only savior from the sins that we all have.
