We do well to seek You. It is Your desire that we do. It is pleasing to You. Yet we know that here we cannot find You. Nonetheless, by Your grace, we can be found by You and we can allow ourselves over and over again to be found by You. You find us. We, despite all the efforts of our seeking, do not find You. However, we do, in this seeking, find our love for You; and the more often we find it, the more intense it grows. This intensity fuels our search for opportunities as well as new ways for You to find us and, paradoxically, we begin to hold synonymous with allowing You to find us our finding You.
To grow enough to be able to discern Your touch, Your discovery of our hiding places, Your call, is to approach as near as we are able to finding You in this life. You give us the best part, You give us what is necessary when You enable us, by Your grace, to be found by You. At these moments we do not, so to speak, meet You. We simply bask in the awareness that You continually seek us; all we must practice and perfect is the art of being found. This art, indeed, connotes an openness that must be practiced. This openness is the skill of making ourselves constantly available to be found by You. It is in our faults, distractions and attachments that we hide from You. There is really no time You can’t find us. You are always at the door, but, as You will, the doorknob is only on one side.
