Who Gives Kudos:

Relationship

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” (John 3:16)

“And this is eternal life:  [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.”  (John 17:3)

God has always wanted a relationship with us.  That was the reason for His creation.  He so wanted it that He sent the Word (Jesus) to be tortured and killed.  One can memorize the Bible, go to church every time the doors are open, study and study, listen to a teacher over and over; and the most one will gain is a knowledge about God.  Jesus came so that we might know Him.  The only way to get to know someone is to spend time with that person.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with me.”  (Revelation 3:20)

This was given to the church and not to an unbelieving world.

When asked how to pray, Jesus included in what is called the Lord’s Prayer, “give us this day our daily bread.”  Jesus said that He is the Bread of Life.  As we need physical sustenance, we need spiritual sustenance.  We need to sit down with Him and be fed daily.  He stands at the door and knocks.  He says if we will open the door, He will come in and feed us our “daily Bread.”

Instead of spending so much time studying and talking, more of us need to sit down at table with our Lord and be fed personally our daily Bread.
