I was reading about a legend about a native american damsel who was take into slavery by a tribe, after her people lost an important war. Her name was Chi'ane, she was fifteen and barely in the flower of her life. The capturing tribe has many troubles after that and famine and no luck in hunts and they blame her for the bad luck. And they forced her to pray in an open field for the 'Spirit' to turn and heal their land. And she compelled to pray for her captors and their bad luck, she cried and the tear that fell on the ground turned into rain...
And when she died, a Yellow Flower grew in her grave and thus forever the Sun Flower came to be believed that she had come back to life!!! And when I stopped believing I also hoped for rebirth of my faith!!! What would grow when I died to sin and became all anew into the new life??? 2Chronicles 7:14-20,
["...14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
17And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
18Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
19But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
20Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations..."]
Now this a sober admonition for anyone!!! And if we are still riding the high horse of apocalypse of presumtion that everything will be all right, it will not!!! Now God has put in motion the Nebuchanezzar anti-Christ to handle this high mindedness and this pride that is going around!!! Zephaniah 1:9-12,
["... 9In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
10And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.
11Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
12And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil..."]
And we think the Lord will just overlook my little pride here, arrogance there and a triffle insolent sometime when I am really provoked!!!
["...5Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
6Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
7Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
8But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin..."]
And certain we continue, God could not be possibly speaking to me??? After all when have I stumbled anyone??? And I have lots of friends and everything is alright!!! Now why should I have concern for this passage???
["... 1I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith..."]
And will come to pass that if we trust in Jesus in any other way than by a sheer faith of his work on the cross, then we have not believed God at all and we are proud and God will point out that we are making a big mistake in the latter days!!!
