Many Christians, if asked what the greatest influencing aspect of their lives is, they would probably respond that it was their faith. Although this would be a noble answer, it probably is not true….In fact, there is another highly influential aspect of our lives that many disregard or do not even accept as a possibility, and that would be the influence of satanic activities within our lives. There are many that believe that Satan has absolutely no control over our actions and that we are protected from this type of persuasion because of our beliefs. This is not true and these people are attacked by Satan more than they could imagine because they are more susceptible to satanic persuasion as a result. Satan gives more attention to Christians than he does to non believers because the non believer is already under the control of Satan it is not necessary for him to spend his efforts against these individuals.
We must ask ourselves why Satan would bother trying to influence a Christian since he cannot win with this individual. Although Satan cannot win over a true believer, he will make every attempt to prevent that person from being a good witness. He does not want the actions of the believer to influence others to become converted and so he does all that he can to rob the believer of victories and make the life of that person less comfortable. There is much doctrine concerning the activities of Satan and there is good reason for this. Satan and his followers are real and hate Jesus. We are constantly warned of satanic attacks and must remain vigilant of his attempts to influence our lives. Satan essentially rules the world and we find that his influence has affected many of the various denominations of Christian churches.
As individual Christians, we should not be ignorant of the attempts of Satan to influence our lives. The Bible gives us many examples of the type of devices that are used by Satan and we must resist his persuasive methods to diminish our relationship with our Lord.
