No Profit (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
In the worlds view, we work hard to get ahead, to make more money, then we work harder to get further ahead, and to make even more money. We may profit for a short period on this earth, but when you go, we can't take it with you. Our true treasure is in heaven, and you don't have to work to receive it.

Scripture Reference
Ecclesiastes 1:3
What profit has a man from all his labor
In which he toils under the sun?

Action Point
There is a free gift that is more precious then silver or gold. You can't earn it, and you don't deserve it. The free gift is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. You can work hard all your life to earn God's favor, but will gain nothing. It is only by faith in Christ alone that you can receive salvation.

Worldly standards of success must be resisted and refuted by the Christian in thought and practice. This is an important subject and I thank you for sharing your thoughts here.

I just launched Fire Breathing Christian on 8/31/09 as a Christian perspective blog site. It can be found at, not surprisingly, http://firebreathingchristian.com.

Please feel free to swing on by and check it out.

Thanks again for sharing and have a great day!

Soli Deo Gloria!
