Who do we serve as we go through our days–Jesus or self?
Do we do what we do because it benefits us or in order to proclaim that He died for us?
Do we serve our families because we love them or because He loves them?
Do we serve those who are unlovely and unlovable because we are forced to (as in a job or a wayward child) or because we are so very often unlovely and unlovable to our Savior and no one could possibly sin against us anymore than we have sinned against Him?
Do we strive to get ahead in order to get things or do we strive to do all that we can with what we have to glorify our Savior?
Do we as women dress in such as way to bring glory to our bodies or to our Savior? (Modest doesn’t mean prudish or old-fashioned!)
Do we spend our money to please only ourselves or see it as a tool to be used to proclaim the gospel of Christ?
Do we center our lives around our families, fun and work or around a crucified and risen Savior?
What do we think about the most? It’s an indication of who or what our true God is. Is is stuff? Family? Fun? TV? Entertainment of some sort? Or, is it Jesus–King of kings and Lord of lords?
Do we live a lifestyle of worship or is it something we go to on Sundays?
Do we ask ourselves, “Does this gloify Jesus?” before we read something, do something, get involved in something…or do we just simply ask, “Do I want to do this?”
Serving Jesus or serving self…
Serving Jesus, truly serving Him because He has saved us and we love Him…which leads us to obedience and growth in holiness…or serving self without any thought to what our Lord wants or demands…which leads to serving Satan which leads us to hell.
