The Christian church has the power to accomplish anything and the Bible gives us the instructions.
As each day passes, we find our society getting into deeper problems caused by the arrogance and greed of our government officials. One of the reasons that this is happening is because we allow it. The lack of action by the people is not something new, but we can expect nothing less when we realize that exactly the same thing is happening within the church. The Old Testament is filled with stories of what happens when the people become complacent with the will of God....We cannot deny that we have allowed much of the decay of our society because we have not stood up and openly condemned the actions of the people that have created a society that accepts almost any activity that fulfills self gratification....
It used to surprise me when I discovered how few Christians read the Old Testament as part of their biblical studies. The Christian Bible is made up of two parts; the Old Testament and the New Testament. We have been given both parts for good reasons. First, it is important to understand from what we have been redeemed, but also, the Old Testament is a study of the nature of man. The lessons of the Old Testament are of extreme importance in order for us to understand why things are the way that we have allowed them to get. We see that people that abuse power cause all sorts of problems for the average citizen, and we see that God will always help those people that are troubled by the abuse of power. But, we must ask for that help as members of His church. The number of different denominations that claim Christianity can only weaken our position when we approach the Lord with our requests.... Unification of the church is essential for many reasons, but mostly so that we can return to the doctrine as set forth by God for us and eliminate those adjustments made by man for their own agenda. Paul addresses this very aspect of the new church because of the confusion that develops without a single entity to which we can refer. Well, we have the Bible and every aspect of Christian life is addressed and answered so that there should be no reason for confusion.
However, there is much confusion still and we must realize that the author of confusion is Satan. If we claim to be the disciples of Jesus, then we have the ability to overcome these evil influences and approach our Lord and claim His promise to help us in our time of need. And, we are in a time of need and He is the only way for our redemption from the problems that we are all facing.....
