"Words of Wisdom for a New Year"

“Words of Wisdom for a New Year”

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

The Apostle Paul is not advocating that the Philippian Christians, should live a CAREFREE LIFE, but they should not WORRY about the situations and problems, they may face or are presently facing. To be genuinely concerned and caring about things is DIFFERENT from WORRYING. WORRYING is a SIN, because it lessens our TRUST in the ALMIGHTY GOD.

The Psalmist in Psalm 62:8, gives us advice for UNCERTAIN TIMES. He tells us to: “Trust in Him at ALL times, you people; pour out your HEARTS to Him, for God is our REFUGE.” TRUSTING in God is NOT something we do ONLY when we have no other recourse. The Psalmist tells us to TRUST in Him at ALL TIMES. He also tells us to POUR OUT our HEARTS to GOD, because He is our REFUGE. You can do that through your PRAYERS, which you should be doing DAILY. He desires to hear from His Children, on a DAILY BASIS.

Whenever you have a CLOSE, INTIMATE relationship with God, you tend NOT to be ANXIOUS about anything, because of your PRAYER LIFE. The Apostle Paul tells us that our PRAYERS should include a PETITION, which is requesting an ANSWER to a SPECIFIC need. We should have an ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE that is, our PRAYERS should be done with THANKSGIVING for ALL that God has already done in our lives, like our SALVATION. REQUESTS are SPECIFIC things we ask for, and with that attitude we should make our REQUESTS known to God.

The PEACE of GOD transcends ALL HUMAN UNDERSTANDING. Mankind cannot comprehend the PEACE of GOD. It is like NOTHING MANKIND has EVER experienced. And when we FULLY TRUST God, by NOT being ANXIOUS or WORRYING about ANYTHING this life brings to us in a NEW YEAR, we will be able to EXPERIENCE the PEACE of GOD, which, through Christ Jesus, will GUARD our HEARTS AND MINDS. He is our REFUGE, SAFETY, PROTECTION, and SHELTER, in UNCERTAIN TIMES. How about YOU? Are you ANXIOUS or WORRYING about what the NEW YEAR may hold? Or are you FULLY TRUSTING GOD and EXPERIENCING His PEACE, whatever the NEW YEAR may hold? If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to GOD, you are destined for an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY OF ESCAPE. It’s time for you to be REALLY CONCERNED about your RELATIONSHIP with God. TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART. And CONFESS your sins to Him, asking Him for His FORGIVENESS. You MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God. Then you MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and FULLY TRUST HIM to be your REFUGE, and EXPERIENCE the PEACE of GOD, which will GUARD your HEART and MIND, through Jesus Christ. Then you will spend ALL of ETERNITY in Heaven, with NO WORRIES or ANXIETIES. Do it NOW, while you still can. He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
