Dragonís Dogma, Etrian Odyssey, and Path of Exile are todayís D&D megadungeons
I adore Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma, an open-world role-playing game that first appeared in 2012. I missed out on the Dark Arisen expansion, but on account of this 2017’s PlayStation 4 remaster, I dived back into the near-6-year-old game.
And about 20 hours into Dragon’s Dogma, I discovered something I hadn’t realized: Dark Arisen, which received criticism for ditching outdoors world, is really a return to the megadungeons of Dungeons & Dragons‘ past, places like Castle Greyhawk and Undermountain. Throw in Atlus’s Etrian Odyssey and POE Currency ’s Delve Challenge League, and this also dungeon-loving grognard has become able to spend months diving deep into dark halls packed with dangerous traps, powerful monsters, POE Orbs， and tempting treasures.
