What hinders men from seeing and hearing God, is their own hearing, seeing and willing: by their own wills they separate themselves from the will of God. To see God, it is imperative that our vision becomes spiritual and not just sensory. To hear God, we must learn to tune out the clamor of our fears and earthly desires.
The Bible was written by individuals who actually beheld the glory of God. To see the glory of God is our call as well. Our spiritual vision is not an imaginary device of the mind, but that which comes from the living union of the Holy Spirit with our hearts.
Matthew 5:8 -- "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
"Eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy." - 1 Corinthians 14:1
Spiritual gifts are the only things we are told to covet, and prophetic gifting heads the list. Why? Because revelations given by the Holy Spirit personally and wonderfully edify other people. These utterances let them know that God is involved in their lives in a very intimate way.
AFFIRMATIONS: As I allow the Holy Spirit to move through me, I will be constantly searching for those whose lives are formless and void. I will become a bridge for them into the glorious, creative purpose of God.
I take time to hear the words of Jesus instead of getting caught in what seems to be the need of the moment.
I sow the seed of the Word of God to my spirit instead of sowing seeds to my flesh. What I feed on is what will grow in my life.
"Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord'" (Ezekiel 37:4).
Let's draw near to Him and ask Him to flood our individual lives and the lives we touch and minister to -- for everything the water touches will spring to life.
Let's spend more time raising our spiritual consciousness with the truths of our inheritance in Christ from the Bible so that there are no "empty places" in our souls.
Let's spend more time worshiping the Father and praying each and every day, letting the Living Waters fill us and then flow out of innermost being to the people whose lives God has given us to affect and change.
Let's flood the atmosphere around us every day with the glory of God! For He is the Kingdom and the power and the glory. As we do this, then we will see exactly what Habakkuk 2:14 says - "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."
