There are a number of fascinating parallels between the first three chapters of the Bible (Genesis 1-3) and the last three chapters of the Bible (Revelation 20-22).In between we find 1,183 chapters which record mankind’s struggles as well as instructions for the struggle. In this series each post looks at one of the parallels—it is not an exhaustive coverage of all the parallels.
The Beginning~ “Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.…Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:22, 24).
The Middle~“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
The End~“Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” (Revelation 21:2). “Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to meand talked with me, saying, ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife’” (Revelation 21:9).
