Defacing our Temples

I would like to add this expression of my feelings before I start with my Health and Healing Blog:

I have been posting blogs on Health and Healing; now for a few years, from a Biblical Scriptural perception.   My main purpose is to enlighten everyone to ways of keeping their bodies (God’s Temple) healthy, mentally and physically.   We all yearn for knowledge and my desire is to touch the hearts of those whom want to follow God’s Biblical Commands to stay healthy.

Hosea 4:

6a - says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

Tattoos on one’s body is like graffiti on a wall.   Having tattoos on our bodies does not glorify God.

BAD GRAFFITI                                 BAD TATTOOING

I remember when I was attending school at Clover Park Technical College for Operating Room Technician and in my anatomy course I found out something that I thought was very profound.  I never thought of the skin as being a very vital organ, until I learned the skins functions.  They are Sensation, Heat regulation, Absorption, Protection, Excretion, Secretion.

Leviticus 19: 28

28 - You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you:  I am the LORD.

What I would like to focus on is Skin Protection:

One of the latest discoveries of another way AIDS is being transmitted is through contaminated ink or dirty tattoo needles.  If fresh ink is not used, then the last person who was tattooed who had any kind of transmittable disease could leave behind that virus or bacteria.  A tattooing machine can puncture the skin 3,000 times a minute.  And every one of those thousands of punctures creates a hole 1/64 to 1/16th of an inch into the dermis that literally invites infection and disease.  Every single puncture of the tattoo needle opens up the real possibility of AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, tetanus, tuberculosis and about any other blood-borne disease.  With the average tattoo taking about 60 minutes that equals 180,000 tiny "Russian Roulette" puncture wounds providing a potential path to a very deadly infectious disease.  Please take the time to pull up this link to learn more knowledge on tattooing.

Psalm 38: 5-8

5 - My wounds our foul and festering because of my foolishness.
6 - I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
7 - For my loins are full of inflammation, and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 - I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.
