Spirit, Soul & Body

Have you ever wondered; as I have, what our bodies will look like in heaven?  We know when Jesus was resurrected He continued to have flesh and bones, it shows us in Luke 24- 39 where Jesus showed doubting Thomas His scars and then Jesus also ate for further proof - in Luke 24 – 41, 42, 43.

Luke 24 – 39 - 40

39 - “Behold My hands and My Feet, that it is I Myself.  Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”

40 - When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His Feet*

Luke 24 –41, 42, 43

41 – But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?”

42 – So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

43 – And He took it and ate in their presence.

Our bodies must have similarities because Jesus states in this scripture Matthew 26 – 29.

Matthew 26 – 29

29 – “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s Kingdom”

This is so wonderful that we will be able to drink the fruit of the vine in our Father’s Kingdom, with Jesus.   We do know that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, but if we can still drink; something, our heavenly bodies are going to be brilliantly awesome, smile…

1 Corinthians 5 – 50, 51, 52, 53, 54

50 - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 -  Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed -  52 - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.  For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  53- For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  54 -  So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

Translated:

Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: "Death is swallowed up in victory.
