JESUS, what an undeniable blessing He is; for us, from our Almighty God is Heaven and still is to this day, and forevermore.Jesus is at the right hand of God interceding for us 24 – 7, how wonderful is that.
When Jesus was born, He was visited by 3 Kings from the east, these three Kings recognized Jesus Christ as the Messiah while He was still a child, and traveled thousands of miles to worship Him and to present Him with gifts. Please read Matthew 2: 1 - 12.
I don’t know how or why we started celebrating the 25th of December as Jesus’s birthday, every day is the birthday of Jesus our Lord and Savior and should be celebrated as so.I do believe that is the reason why the Holy Bible does not give us an exact date.We should worship Him and give gifts always, with an unconditional commitment. Our God in Heaven would welcome all our worshiping no matter what day it is.The Pew Research Center did a survey and alone in the United States, according to this 2014 study 70.6% of the American population identified themselves as Christians.I know our God in Heaven is happy with that.We all need to strive and spread the word to build up the percentage, so our God in Heaven will continue to bless the United States of America.
I believe that Santa Claus has his place, we always encourage our children to use their imaginations and here we have this wonderful man who travels from one end of the earth to the next spreading good cheer and delivering gifts to all young and old.I remember when I was young it was Santa who brought the presents, not our parents. When we woke up in the morning, we were lucky to get one present and if we got 2; oh boy, that was really special because Santa had some extra gifts, smile.
I think we are all guilty of raising over indulgenced children and what is sad about this, is we don’t even consider that there could be consequences. There is no anticipation today, the children know exactly what gifts they are going to get because they gave Dad and Mom a list and Dad and Mom put aside a gift from Santa and then they indulge them with many, many more gifts.
I have seen these consequences of over indulgence and it can be so disappointing and disheartening, because one of the consequences is having an uncompassionate and selfish child. We need to let our children know the true meaning of Christmas, it is the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and He needs our total love and unwavering compassion. He doesn’t need gifts in Heaven, He needs to know that we want to give lovingly from our hearts.Have your child buy a gift and take it to a children’s hospital to give to a child, this is one way of showing your child the act of compassion, there are many other ways. Then tell your children that the only presents they will be getting are from Santa; eventually; the children will be fine with it and they will be appreciative of what they have received and by the time they know the truth about Santa, they will appreciate even more what Dad and Mom did to enhance their character also Dad and Mom can save some money, smile.Giving is so important; as they receive, so should they give.
