~ Jesus Christ Understands Our Struggles and Our Needs ~
General Comment~When Jesus saw there was always an appropriate reaction and in each case we can learn from the event.
Today’s Scripture~“Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away. And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray. Now when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was alone on the land. Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and would have passed them by.And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, ‘Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid’” (Mark 6:45-50, see also Matthew 14:22-33 and John 6:16-21).
Application ~Jesus Christ—the Son of God—came to earth as an infant in Bethlehem. As He grew He experienced life in every dimension. He experienced joy, accomplishment, hunger, thirst, extreme pain, and all aspects of life which we experience.Yet in all aspects of life He was victorious—even over death on a cross in Calvary—but He never sinned!
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:14-16).
