Praying for Your Children is like putting on the armour of God and sending them out into the world.

Parent's Prayer for Their Children

O heavenly Father, I commend my children unto Thee.  Be Thou their God and Father: and mercifully supply whatever is wanting in me through frailty or negligence.  Strengthen them to overcome the corruptions of the world, to resist all solicitations to evil, whether from within or without; and deliver them from the secret snares of the enemy.   Pour Thy grace into thier hearts, and confirm and multiply in them the gifts of Thy Holy Spirit, that they may daily grow in grace and  in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so, faithfully serving Thee here, may come to rejoice in Thy presence hereafter.  (Beneath the Cross, Our Lady's Children in Maryland, Millersville, Maryland, 1990).

Again, in the theme of prayers for the family another beautiful prayer to pray for our children from Beneath the Cross.

Often I find myself too vested in this eartly world and so preoccupied with the trivial things of this world that I move to attempt to control all aspects of my life and my children's lives as if I were all alone and could really do this.  I feel bogged down and overwhelmed and forget that all souls are God's souls and that He is in charge.  Our children need our prayers and we need the council of God to help us in raising Godly children.

The good news: The Holy Spirit lives in our children and our job as parents, aunts, or uncles is to nurture an awareness of Him in themselves.  Pray that our children will seek and recognize the Holy Spirit that lives within.

Let's pray for a world where all children will have a chance to know God and will desire to cultivate their souls to hear the promptings of His Holy Spirit for their lives; to hear Him as He guides and directs their lives and their vocations; how little prescious earthly time would be wasted.  How much more and sooner in their lives could our children bring about God's interventions and His will to this earth.  It is never too late! I pray for you, for me, and for our children that we will open our hearts and minds to hear the promptings of His Holy Spirit; acting in such a way as to bring to earth His goodness and awesome power; to reveal Him to ourselves and those around us. With God's guidance this world becomes a better place.  Rejoyce!

God Bless you and again thanks for reading.

Mood: grateful
