For a long time now i have a bird feeder in our backyard and enjoyed seeing the birds come and eat. For about a year now or more an squirrel showed up from somewhere and started eating most of the bird seeds. I tried different things and to my dismay the squirrel keeps outsmarting me. Yesterday was another feast day for the squirrel and I was getting desperate. I did my best set up and in the late afternoon i appeared to have won over the squirrel. Early today to my horror the squirrel was able to find a way to the bird feeder.I hopelessly look as the squirrel keeps eating. Although because of my set up, the squirrel falls after minutes of eating, four times the squirrel jumps from the top of the fence and lands on the feeder as i look with resignation.
Finally I decided to check the internet for antisquirrel set up.While checking the market, I found some items but I have to order and wait a few days for the product. I decided to try some idea out of whatever material I can find in my backyard. I placed a wide dish on top of the bird feeder. The idea worked but after one or two attempts by the squirrel the dish cover gets dislodged. Seven times the squirrel failed to get into the feeder although I have to readjust the cover. This is the first day I won over the squirrel.
What is the lesson here ? The squirrel does not give up and so we are not to give up too.Same it is with our secular life and also in Christian life. When temptation comes fight it out. The Bible says submit ourselves to God , resist the devil and he will flee from you.
So do not give up, with God on our side who can be against us as our men's choir sung last Sunday. Remember too with the love of Christ no one or nothing can separate us from God.
