Galatians 5:22

"But the fruit of the Spirit is...kindness..."

Just a few thoughts from my quiet time with God this morning.  God call us to "put on a heart of ...kindness..." (Colossians 3:12).  In this world that is not always a popular thing to do.  The winner is whoever does whatever is necessary to come out on top.  Mercy and kindness and goodness are often seen as weaknesses.

Thankfully this is not what God tells us or the example Jesus set for us.  We are to love others and to show kindness as we live in a fallen world.  By doing this, we can be positive examples for His kingdom and have opportunity to share the Gospel with those who so desperately need to hear it.

Today and everyday I pray God will soften my heart as He brings people into my life who need a little kindness.  It may be a smile, a hug, a word, or an invitation to meet my Jesus.  Whatever it is, I hope I am open to His leading and willing to take a risk.  I then will leave the results to Him.

Mood: thankful
