Not Allowed to mention the Bible in School

ON 12/19/13, there was a show and tell in the first grade class at helen Hunt jackson Elmentary School. This was to be a Christmas show and tell, the assignment being to find something that represented a Christmas family tradition. Brynn Williams brought the star of David from the family tree and prepared her one minute presentation. Brynn was going to read John 3 verse 16 when the teacher made her sit down  She was the only one in class that was not allowed to finish

The teacher handled the whole situation poorly. When you ask students to do something, there should no punishment for doing what you asked. The principal obviously got involved too and said the teacher handled it correctly. Both the teacher and the principal should know something about the Constitution. Christian critics often refer the the separation of Church and State in the Consititution.

There is no separation of Church and State in the constitution. The term was first used by Thomas jefferson in an 1805 letter written to the Danbury Baptist Association. He mentions there is no state religion because that would interfere with a persons free choice a wll of separation exists. He never had any intention to make the United States anti-Christian
