The Sheep Know His Voice

  The Sheep Know His Voice

John 10:27 says, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
I go through periods where I KNOW His voice but I also go through times where I am not so sure. Maybe even more frequently, I often know for sure that it's His voice but later I second-guess the whole experience. I will even feel foolish for thinking that something so supernatural happened to me. Isn't this what we so often do when it comes to dreams and visions as well?
I find it strange that many Christians do not believe God speaks to us in visions or dreams. Others say that it is extraordinarily rare or that He never tells us the future. Don't get me wrong...I often second-guess myself but when we doubt God's communication with us or with others, aren't we putting God in a box? Or maybe we are falling captive to satans lies. God is all-powerful...He can communicate in any way He wishes. This makes me wonder why so many doubt dreams and visions.
Maybe the dream or vision is a test in itself....a test to see if we believe, to see if we have the faith. Maybe we doubt them because we are taught to....because it's a societal way of thinking and we know the church has, in many ways, been taken captive by society.
Have you had dreams that you knew, and maintained, were from God? Have you had visions where you felt God's presence? Has your life ever changed because of one of these? I cannot help but to wonder how often we do not share these experiences because we are afraid of the feedback.

Well said, i think people are afraid of acknowledging that God speak to us via these medium yet the bible clearly instructs us about some of the methods God uses. Job 33 v 15 says at night when people are asleep God speak to men and women through dreams and visions. These visions could be about ourselves could be for other but I come to understand and accept that whoever  or whatever it is meant for there is only a way of having manifested as that is though pray. God also says in Samuel as Samuel grew before the Lord, God revealed himself though His word. Another method God uses, cause not everyone will understand what the word means. Sometimes God gives a word that is so unreal you have to ask yourself: was this really meant for me? “I also realized when God has these private moments with us and He shares His thoughts with us, it reminds me of how small I am and how great He is. When God reveals certain things to me I often wonder how exactly is that gona work huh? But then I console myself with God's word that called men and women like Noah to build and ark in the drought and prepare for rain which was now where to be seen. Look at the end result of that, not only did it save his life but God made an eternal covenant with man. So personally I look at the task ahead that God reveals and I view myself as someone standing at the edge of a cliff, about to bungee jump cause I know I have a harness to hold me.
