Dogma:That which is held as an opinion, a definite tenet; also a code of such tenets. A doctrine or body of doctrines of theology and religion formally stated and authoritatively proclaimed by a church or sect.Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary
Faith: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to GOD must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who dilligenty seek Him." Heb. 11:1 & 6.
Dogma is what Jesus railed against the religious leaders about. They changed the laws GOD had given them to live by until the Christ came to deliver them from the law. Yet when Christ came in the flesh they did not recognise Him because He was destroying their religion, their life, because it was more important to them then GOD's Law.
Faith is what Jesus taught the people, see the 4 Gospels and Acts. Faith is harder for us than dogma. With dogma someone tells us what to believe and that it is good for us if we do and bad for us if we don't. After His second feeding of the multitudes (4000 plus) He warned the disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. They thought He was referring to the fact that they had takenno bread after the feeding miracle. He said to them in Matt. 16:8 ... "O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?" Faith is what we exercise daily by practising what GOD has commanded, That requires us to know His Word and make decisions based on it with the guidance of His Holy Spirit. There is some variableness in this process, because every situation is different. But, dogma allows no variableness the rules and regulations must be followed per the letter of the law.
Jehova Witness and Mormonism are dogmas, but Christianity is not supposed to be a dogma, it is supposed to be a dailyexersize of faith in GOD and what He has done for us so that we can serve Him, see Matt. 6:25-34, Matt. 7:21-23.
