Through the cross of Jesus Christ we see two bridges. The vertical beam and the horizontal beam form the cross in which Jesus became the Mediator between God and man.
God and man were separated when man disobeyed God and that remained until Jesus came and became the bridge between God and man. The bridge about God and man is still remembered to this day but which is the forgotten bridge ?
We know that on Jesus' right and left sides were two thieves, one who repented and the other who did not. Can those two thieves be reconciled to one another ? Apparently not because they have different beliefs on Jesus. One will go to paradise but the other rejected Jesus who is the way to the Father.
Today there are many who claim that they believe in Jesus but have trouble recognizing fellow believers. Christians we are called but we seem to be separated. There appears to be a gap or wall in between us yet we all claim we believe in Jesus.
Both thieves were with Jesus physically but their desires and beliefs on Jesus was different. To the one who repented Jesus promised paradise but to the other nothing was promised.
Yes it is easy to say we believe in Jesus but Jesus is not only interested in our mouth but in our hearts , mind, and soul. Man looks at the outside but God looks at the inside.
Soon Jesus will come and we will be gathered to Him. Some will be accepted and some will be rejected.
Let us pray that God will clean our hearts, mind , and soul. But while we are waiting for Jesus, how do we know that Jesus knows us ? We have our conscience, the church, the Bible and our body which pulls us to the direction it wants to go. If we keep looking to Jesus then we are on the right way , if not and you want to be with God, turn around or repent and follow Jesus from now on.
And remember Jesus is the bridge to God, letus keep our eyes on Him.Let us walk in His ways.
