We may all be familiar with wrestling. Well there is always a very high championship to which the wrestlers go for. It's not always every wrestler but normally the best of the best. Notice that not all wrestlers are able to fight for this gold, but only certain wrestlers. If you are a rare wrestler, you should feel privileged. How many of you have been wrestling to obtain your blessing? Let's look at Jacob and how he had gotten himself in different situations. Jacob stole his brother's blessing and then fled from him; he had to work fourteen years to obtain the wife that he wanted; he stole from his father in law and then fled from him. Now he was faced with wrestling God all night until daybreak. Finally God is like let go and Jacob's reply was, "I will not let you go unless you bless me (v. 26)" What I'm trying to show you is that you need to train and prepare for your match. You may wonder how you train to wrestle with God. Well you get into the Bible and study to show yourself approved (2 Tim. 2:15). God says that people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Know that without a shadow of a doubt that what God's word says is true and His promises are for you. Get ready to put your best submission hold on God until He taps out. It's time to fight for what is yours, even if it takes being broken from unnecessary things, people, places, or lifestyles that you hold dear to your heart, because God's grace will be sufficient enough for you (2 Cor. 12:9). When you look at the wrestling matches for the championship belt, those men come out bloody, bruised, and in pain but the one with the most heart gets the belt. You may come out broken and bruised, but you will come out healed, delivered, and made whole. It's up to you how you come out the fight, as the victor or the victim. Because of Jacob's persistence God finally blessed him. How persistent are you to receive your blessing? Hold on to God and don't give up until you receive the blessings that God has for you. Put your best foot forward and give it your all and you will come out on top. Be the champion because God has already given us the victory (1 Cor. 15:57; Matt. 17:20)
Keep fighting the good fight of faith, God Bless!
