Take heed..Lest we be destroyed!
“ Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters, they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy one of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Why should ye be stricken any more? Ye will revolt more and more; the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.” Isaiah 1: 4,5.
As Isaiah proclaimed this warning to Judah many centuries ago, could it be that God might with the same warning today be speaking to our great nation, America?
“Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.” Isaiah 1: 7
It seems that our nation is becoming more and more like Sodom and Gomorrah. “Hear the word of the Lord ye rulers of Sodom, give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.” Isaiah 1: 10.
Prayer and bible reading and the ten commandments have been removed from our public school systems, and lack of authority, guns, and violence have replaced them. When natural disasters strike our families and cities, we stretch forth our hands and cry out to God whom we ignore in the times of our well being and prosperity and plenty. But take heed, , God warns - “And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.” Isaiah 1: 15. “And the destruction of the transgressors and of sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed”. Isaiah 1: 28.
Our nation can still be saved from total destruction if we who know the truth, and know the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior will be diligent in preaching the word of God to a lost and dying world . God still pleads with America today as he did with Judah long ago-”Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well, seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Isaiah 1: 16-20.
One day all nations that forget God will be cast into hell, and the house of the Lord will be established to rule and to reign in righteousness.
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, aned all nations shall flow into it.” Isaiah 2:2.
